Sensory and integumentary function will get change in older adults..most of the older adults will have changes in sensory disorder in vision,hearing,smell,taste, touch, and peripheral sensation..but it is normal process when they became old..it will affect their self- perception, communication skills, and lifestyle behaviour..

Some disorders like presbyopia (loss of elasticity in the lens of eye..)

Glaucoma,diabetic retinopathy,conductive hearing loss, burning mouth syndrome (sensation of tongue is tingling or burning),peripheral neuropathy, phantom limb pain, Acute sensory loss etc ..

30% of older adults affected with visual impairment..cataract is the leading common chronic condition in adults..Assessment, nursing care,followup monitoring can change and support the people with sensory impairment..
