Answer #1

Answer : nasal decongestants are used to treatment nasal congestion

Nasal decongestants are applied to nasal passages to reduce congestion and discomfort due to allergies and common cold .

Decongestants cause blood vessel in the nasal passages to shrink .

Vasoconstriction reduces nasal congestionby preventing fluid draining from blood vessel into the tissue lining the nasal passages.

In above question , mrs. Cook is complaing about severe head ache and extreme dizziness

Dizziness is common side effect of nasal decongestants

And she is having severe head ache due to increased blood pressure

High Bp also one of side efdect of nasal decongestants

So as a health care professional We need to explain reasons for head ache and dizziness to get relief from anxiety and worries .

And provide medication such as tab . Be complex to reduce dizziness , tab . Chrosin to relief from head ache if required

Educated to do mind relaxation excercises and meditation etc. And educated to take well balanced diet to relief from dizziness .

2) beta blockers are widely used in the management of cardiac conditions and to reduce perioperative complications .

Beta blockers may increase airway reactivity and bronchospasm ,as well as decrease response to inhaled or oral beta receptor agonists and causes worsening of pulmonary function.

Non selective beta blockers causes broncho constriction ,so patient may have respiratory emergency .
