The first step is the nucleophilic attack of the lone pair of N-atom to the carbonly carbon of CH2=O .
Then there is a proton transfer from (+)vely charged N-atom to negatively charged O-atom.
Then the lone pair of O-atom attacks the H+ of the mild acid HA and generates A-.
Then there is a lose of Water molecule (H2O).
Then there is attack of the pi electron from the aromatic ring (Enhanced by the electron donating - OH group at ortho position) to the -CH2 group with lose of aromaticity.
Then regain of aromaticity by lose of H+ by the A- , generating the final product and HA ( acid).
