A fly appears to be upside down and twice its actual size when viewed through a converging lens with a focal length of 5.0 cm. How far is the fly from the lens?
Since the image is inverted
M = -2 = -s'/s
so s' = 2s
s' ,s = image , object distance
f = 5 cm
1/s + 1/s' = 1/f
1/s + 1/(2s) = 1/5
1/s(1 + 1/2)
=1/s(1.5)
= 1.5/s = 1/5
s = 1.5* 5 = 7.5 cm
The fly is 7.5 cm in front of the lens.
I hope help you !!

You are examining a recent acquisition for your stamp collection through a hand-held reading glass (a converging lens). Determine the focal length of the lens, if when the reading glass is 2.81 cm from the stamp the image of the stamp appears to be six times the size of the actual stamp. cm PP !! coin will be a stamp

28. Consider a slide projector that consists of a single converging lens. The slide has an illuminated region of 2cm x 2cm. The screen is 10 m from lens. (a) Should the slides be put into the projector upside down or right side up (i.e. is the image inverted) ? (b) How far from the lens should the slide be placed so that the image has size of 2 m x 2 m (assume the focal length of the lens...
