Anesthetic is the drug used for loss of sensation in the patient. An- is the prefix meaning without. Aesthesia is suffix here, meaning sensation.

Anesthetist is the medical professional which gives anaesthesia. An- is the prefix meaning without. Aesthesia is suffix here, meaning sensation.

Causalgia is the burning pain in the limbs. –algia is the suffix meaning pain. Caus- is prefix meaning burning.

Cranial pertaining to cranium. Cranio- is the root word meaning cranium. –al is suffix meaning pertaining to.

Encephalitis – inflammation of brain. Encephalo is the root word, meaning brain. –itis is the suffix, meaning inflammation.

Meningitis- inflammation of meninges. Meninge- is the root word, meaning covering of brain. –itis is the suffix, meaning inflammation.

Hematoma is collection of blood outside the blood vessel. Hemat- is the word root, meaning blood. –oma is the suffix, meaning fluid collection.
