Define the zones surrounding a lake. These may be defined by concentric circles around the lake or by geographic divisions. As per environmental economics and geographical information there are 3 different zones around lakes as below:

  1. Littoral zone where 1% sunlight reaches the near shore area where sunlight can penetrate sediment
  2. Limnetic zone which is open water area where light does not penetrate bottom.
  3. Benthic zone is last zone where fine layers are civered by sand beneath the water at deepest levels. This level is also called profundal level.

Thr maximum growth takes near limnetic zone and is most growing versatile area.
