This is IMS mass spectrometry or IMS-MS (note that IMS is not a mass analyzer). For biological compounds especially the ones from blood plasma we need an excellent sample preparation before mass spectrometry given the fact that we don't have money for a front-end separation technology like chromatography. Handling relatively volatile compounds in this MS would be a challenge though. Unfortunately, there is no perfect MS in the world till date!
