96. Proventil is a short-acting bronchodilator, while Vanceril is a corticosteroid inhaler. Bronchodilator should be taken first to dilate the airway and after waiting for 1-2 min, one should take steroid inhaler.

98. Phototherapy is helpful in treatment of hyperbilirubinemia in newborn babies. Greenish stools, increased urine output are signs of this condition. Phototherapy will reduce these symptoms. Nurse must check for the infant’s eye and skin yellow color every 2 hours. This condition can lead to anemia too.

During phototherapy, infant’s eyes and genitalia must be covered with patches to prevent their damage.

So, the nurse must intervene when mother is worried about frequent loose and greenish stools and has increased urine output. Nurse must educate mother about these symptoms of hyperbilirubinemia.
