Answer #1

Suppose FCA and Fc are the tension in cables AC and BC respectively

Now by force balance,

FCA COS 50 FCB COS 30 0 cos 50.......(1)

P - Fcasin 50 FcB sin 300 cos 50 Fca sin 50° + FCA cos 30 sin 30° -440t putting Fcs from eq. (1)] FCA (sin 500 + cos 500 tan 300-440 440 Sin 500 + cos 500 tan 300 CA Fca 386.930 lb

Pluging the value of Fca in eq.(1) FcBFCA c386.930 COS 50 Fce 287.190 lb COS 30 cos 30

The tension in cable AC is 387 Ib & the tension in cable BC is 287 lb
