Define the following

26. An audiogram is a graph that shows the softest sounds a person can hear at different pitches or frequencies. The closer the marks are to the top of the graph, the softer the sounds that person can hear. Where the patient's results fall on the audiogram indicate the different degrees of hearing loss. The audiogram shown below indicates the different degrees of earing loss.

27. Substernum- situated or perceived behind or below the sternum

28. An osteotomy is any surgery that cuts and reshapes your bones. A procedure to repair a damaged joint. It’s also used to shorten or lengthen a deformed bone that doesn’t line up with a joint like it should.

29. Vertigo is a sensation of feeling off balance. Vertigo is often caused by an inner ear problem.

30. Otalgia- earache it is a symptom caused due to infection of the middle or inner ear.

31. A stapedectomy is a surgical procedure of the middle ear performed in order to improve hearing. In   problem like otosclerosis If the stapes footplate is fixed in position, rather than being normally mobile
