1) Mr. Livengood's insistence that these companies fund the storytelling festival is unethical. because he is indirectly using the company funds for his personal benefits. but in the investigation report doesn't mention any financial benefits he is getting from this even. so until proving the financial benefits to Mr. Livengood, it's not considered as unethical.

2). No, He can't avail of any tax benefits by doing this event, because all the expenses paid by the company and Mr. Livengood is not currently working as the CEO of this company.
