Area of the class room=3.5 inx2 in

Solution:

So from the scale, convert the Area of class room into ft²

Area of class room=3.5x20x2x20=2800 ft²    (As 1in=20ft, given from question)

Area of class romm=2800x144=403200 in²   (This is real area of the class room )

Area of each tile=4 inx6 in=24 in²

Number of tiles required to fill the class room=403200/24=16800

Cost of each tile=$5

So total cost of tiles=$5x16800=$84000 [option (b)]
