Answer #1

13. Blindness - optic nerve

Corneal reflex is absent - trigeminal and facial

Difficulty moving the eye inferior and lateral - trochlear

Inability to laterally rotate the eye - abducens

Inability to maintain balance and equilibrium - vestibulocochlear

Inability to pucker the lips - facial

Inability to smell - olfactory

Inability to taste better - glossopharyngeal

Pupillary reflexes are absent - optic and oculomotor

Soft palate drops on one side - vagus and glossopharyngeal

Tongue deviates to one side when it is stuck out of the

mouth - hypoglossal

Weakness in elevation of the scapula - acessory ( spinal accessory)

14. Cranial nerve and the extrinsic eye muscles :-

1. Oculomotor nerve - innervates the medial ,inferior , superior recti , the inferior oblique , levator palpebrae muscles

2. Trochlear nerve - innervates the superior oblique muscle.

3. Abducens nerve - innervates the lateral rectus muscle .

All these nerves carry somatic nerve fibers to the extrinsic eye muscles .

15. Cranial nerves that innervates the structure of tongue are:-

- Hypoglossal nerve innervates the intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of tongue except the palatoglossal .

- Vagus nerve innervates the palatoglossal ,gag reflex

- Glossopharyngeal nerve for swallowing ,gaga reflex ,speech and taste

16. Cranial nerves that carry parasympathetic motor output and their function are:-

- Oculomotor nerve controls the muscles of eye ,it's signal originates in the brain cells in brainstorm and travels down long thin extensions called nerve fibre

- Facial nerve - it causes parasympathetic innervation to the mucous glands of oral cavity ,nose , pharynx and lacrimal gland

- Glossopharyngeal nerve - it supplies parasympathetic fibers to the parotid gland via the otic ganglion

- Vagus nerve - parasympathetic innervation of heart partially is done by vagus nerve .
