a. It helps in planning and controlling various items like cash , fixed and variable expenses , gross profit margin , net profit margins , stock , income etc by comparing BUDGETS and ACTUAL .

b. It helps in DECISION MAKING for both short term and and long term by using cost information for capital investment ,pricing and marketing.

c. It helps in evaluating the product profitability and also the financial implications of strategies and plans .

d. It helps in preparing internal reports in user friendly manner.

2. COST OF GOODS AVAILABLE FOR SALE = Opening stock of finished goods + purchases - closing stock of finished goods
