Answer #1

Answer (3) : Stakeholders are critical in the decision making of any firm or institution. In a hospital, the contracts are mitigated only through the proper approval of the management and the updated and detailed blueprint of the pan including the perspective of the stakeholders must be presented to the management so that the management can take a call on the implementation of the project. There could be many stake holders for James to face, however, let us discuss three of them and the way James would negotiate or gather information from them.

One of the critical stakeholders is the Hospital itself. The Hospital must be in the center of all the plan and decisions to be taken. James would first have to contact the Hospital administration to gather the details of where the 50 beds are needed , are they in one room or in different rooms, are all the beds needed of the same size or quality, do they have any special requirement of any bed , what quality of beds does the hospital management expect to have, where would the oncology department be set up, how much space does the hospital have for the oncology center and what special equipment’s they require for the oncology center to be set up, the hospital must give a rough estimate on how much a budget they would want to spare on a total of these two activities. The hospital also must inform, as to whether the two activities can be carried out without disturbing the existing patients of the hospital, or do they have a separate provision for any renovation work.

The Second Stakeholder would be the supplier of the equipment’s for the oncology center and the supplier of the beds. James must get in touch with the supplier of the beds to inform them about the number of beds he wants form them and in how much time, he would need to tell the supplier as to what quality of beds are desired and how he can facilitate them. Moreover, James would need to know the cost per bed and negotiate with the supplier to provide the beds at the best possible price. James also needs to contact the supplier of the equipment’s for the oncology center. These equipment’s are specialized and has to be of the best quality. Therefore, James need to figure out the total cost of all the necessary equipment’s and negotiate with the supplier for the best possible price.

Another stakeholder would be the construction workers group. James would need to contact the local workers to decide with them as to the total wage they would charge for shifting the beds inside the hospital and placing them as desired by the hospital authority. James would also need to get in touch with the specialized equipment engineers for the oncology department set up. The best in the business have to be contacted and James would need to negotiate and figure out the best possible price for the set up of the oncology department.

James would need to plan out all the data in a spreadsheet and collate them for better presentation for the meeting with the management.
