Solutions:

1.

Par Value of Corporation's Common preferred stock = $80000 / 1000 shares = $80
Par Value of corporations Common stock = $100000 / 4000 shares = $25

2.

Book value per share of common stock = (Common Stock +retained earning) / number of common shares
= ($100000+ $370000) / 4000 = $117.50

3.

Preferred dividend arrears for 2 years = $80000*5% * 2 = $8000
Book value per share for common shares = (100000 + 370000 -8000) / 4000 = $ 115.50 per share

4.

Preferred dividend= 2 years arrears dividend + Current year dividend = $80000*5%*3 = $12,000
Common stock dividend = $17400 - $12000 = $5,400
