Answer #1

we have mass of each elements as:
Pb: 68.3 g
S: 10.6 g
O: 21.1 g

Divide by molar mass to get number of moles of each:
Pb: 68.3/207.2 = 0.3296
S: 10.6/32.07 = 0.3305
O: 21.1/16.0 = 1.3188

Divide by smallest to get simplest whole number ratio:
Pb: 0.3296/0.3296 = 1
S: 0.3305/0.3296 = 1
O: 1.3188/0.3296 = 4

So empirical formula is:PbSO4

Molar mass of PbSO4,
MM = 1*MM(Pb) + 1*MM(S) + 4*MM(O)
= 1*207.2 + 1*32.07 + 4*16.0
= 303.27 g/mol

Answer:
PbSO4
303.27 g/mol
