In Hplc for better resolution of peak 1st method is to add 0.1to 0.5% acid it may be formic or acetic acid..due to addition of these acids peaks get better resolved.

Anather some methods to improve peak resolution are..

a) increase column film thickness -thicker film will resolve greater because it dissolve greater amount of solvent which help to minimise distortion of peak.

b) By using guard column

c) By decreasing injection volume

d) By using pressure pulsed injection.

These are some methods to increase peak resolution in hold.
