Disasters are sudden, serious accidents by nature that damage normal functioning of a society and causes great damage to loss of life. Disasters may be natural or man made which damages economical, health, geographical, environmental, life changes in a country or part of a society. At the time of disasters nursing care is highlighted to cure patients suffering with pain and diseases. Public health nursing involves nurses, team members of medical professionals including ambulance services in provide immediate nursing care to prevent further damages.

ODISHA SUPER CYCLONE (PARADIP CYCLONE / SUPER CYCLONE 05B)

ONE OF THE NATURAL AND DEADLIEST DISASTER OCCURED IN INDIA IN THE YEAR OF 1999 . Te cyclone has affected the lives of people leading to 10,000 above deaths in the year 1999. Exactly 20 years back this natural disaster a raised which killed a lot of people in the state. Over 2 lakhs and above houses has completely destroyed, which left one million and above people home less.The cyclone became strongest and reached its peak level at the North side coastal region. The coastal sides presented in odisha (Bhadrak, Ganjam, Puri ,Balasore) are affected with this powerful cyclone.

The government announced a fast track medical team members to be reached at the affected side, where military, army, medical, ambulance, relief camps were prepared to save the lives of persons who caught in cyclone. Helping hands came forward to rescue the people, several NGOs distributed their work in providing medical camps, hygiene needs, food disbursal, first aid,relief camps are arranged. Therefore, health care team members especially nurses performed their role in the situation to prevent further loss of lives with disasters. At natural disasters affected odisha 20 years back , internet search we can get the complete information of the disaster.

Preparedness regarding medical. nursing. technicians. relief camps. ambulance services. non medical, anesthetists all team members combined to face the disaster along with the rescue teams which saved the lives of people in searching the missing persons.
