I know that there are four method to measure ozone concentration.
(Ultra violate photo metric method, chemiluminescent method, neutral buffered KI method, Differential optical absorption spectroscopy)
Why is 'Ultra Violate Photometric Method' the most used method of measuring ozone concentrations in the atmosphere?
Ultraviolet photometric method the most used method of measuring ozone concentration in the atmosphere as it is an environment friendly method. The other methods such as chemiluminescence, natural buffer KI method, differential optical absorption spectroscopy are not frequently available . Also these three methods are not environment friendly as compared to ultraviolet photometric method. There are the following significant feature of the method:
1. Present FRM (federal regulation method) and FEM (Federal equivalent method) analyzers show good agreement with the results
2.Over 95% of the analyzers can be recycled
3. It is environment friendly method. There is no use of mercury lamp.
4. Provides accurate, stable, repeatable O3measurement in the range of 0.2 ppb to 10 ppm level
5.Economically favorable and user friendly and can be used in lab and ambient condition
