Question

in the reaction KBr + NH4CL = NH4Br + KCL I have the complete ionic equation...

in the reaction KBr + NH4CL = NH4Br + KCL

I have the complete ionic equation as K+ + Br- + NH4+ + Cl- = NH4++ Br-+ K++ Cl-

Because the equation is already balanced, would this also be the net ionic equation since no precipitate formed from this reaction? Would they all be spectator ions, or are there no spectator ions since the equation does not form a precipitate?

Answer #1

Ans :

All the species mentioned in the complete ionic equation are spectator ions since they do not form any precipitate in the products side , hence they do not participate in the reaction.

So for this reaction , there will no net ionic equation .
