There is nothing like collective statistics or null statistics. So, option A and C are incorrect.

We know that descriptive statistics gives us information about the sample. For example, descriptive statistics is mean, median, mode, standard deviation and variance, etc. for the sample.

We know that the inferential statistics is defined as making conclusion or drawing an idea about the population data using the sample data and findings.

In this case, average score of a class is compared to the normal statistics class at a community college, i.e. sample data is used to make conclusion about the population.

So, it is an inferential statistics

Option D is correct answer
