The technician will first inform the patient about the effect of abdominal x-ray, and how it will harm the fetus if any patient is pregnant.All the patient have the right to confidentiality, hence the technician will question the patient whether they are expecting any child or has been sexually active.
2. The same will be informed to the patient's relative and inform them that it is the protocol of the management to inform each and every patient to prevent any abnormalities to the fetus.
If the patient refuses to leave the room prior to actually taking the x-rays, the technician will inform the relative the effect of being exposed to x-rays, such as cancer, vomiting etc.
