There many methods in which you can obtain solids.

1. Recrystallization - this is the process where solid is dissolved in suitable solvent which shows partial solubility in the cold condition and completely soluble in hot condition. The solute is recrystallized.

Precipitation - this is the process where you add two solution that results in the formation of solid. Example - AgNO3+ NaCl --> AgCl(s) + NaNO3

The solid obtained can be either separated by 2. filtration or by 3. centrifugation.

So , recrystallization, centrifugation, and filtration are three different techniques from which you can separate solids out.
