Solution) This problem is based on kinematics .

In kinematics we mainly use three formula and these are the basic formulas

(1) V = U + at

(2) S = Ut + (1/2)at^2

(3) V^2 = U^2 + 2aS

Here V is final velocity otherwise represented as Vf and U is initial velocity otherwise represented as Vi

S is displacement

a is acceleration due to gravity otherwise termed as g

For a body falling down a= g = 9.8m/s^2

For a body moving up a = g = -9.8m/s^2
