Mobility lets one live an independent life without having to lean on others and becoming a burden and this message could have been effectively conveyed to the patient so that she would do anything to avoid falls and retain mobility. The doctor and the CMA ought to handle this issue with more care, caution, and appreciation, at each and every stage of trying out the gait belt. Such an attitude from them would not only have made the patient feel less embarrassed but would also have made her more comfortable and confident wearing the belt.
