5. Osteoarthritis is a condition which occurs due to the wearing down of protective cartilage of the bones. This generally occurs as a person ages and can result in the damage of any joints. One of the primary symptom of this condition is the stiffness of joints after being inactive for some time.

One of the best ways to ease the pain or stiffening is to warm soak the arms and hands. This is one of the forms of complementary therapy which allows in loosening of the stiffened joints. When the affected part is soaked in warm water it warms up the stiffened joints and dilates the blood vessels allowing more blood, oxygen, and nutrients to flow to the affected areas. As circulation of body fluid increases, the stiff joints get more relaxed.
