Question

You do an experiment where you look at otherwise identical cylinders with varying lengths. You measure the length of the cylinder with a ruler, and measure the volume by dropping the cylinder in a beaker of water and observing the rise in water level.

After taking data, and getting the best fit line, what is the slope in cm^2? (I want a number)Cylinder Volume vs length (diameter- 1.24 cm) y 1.2055x +0.8087 R2 0.9987 1.5 3.5 Cylinder length (cm) 2.5 4.5 5.5

Answer #1

Let the equation of straight line is y=mx+c

Then m is the slope of the line.

I.e. slope is the coefficient of x .

Here the coefficient of x is 1.2055.

So slope is 1.2055 cm^2
