Summary of the article - Despite of the increased attention towards the quality of health care services in all the aspects from all viewpoints ,there are numerous threats to patient safety in the healthcare setting.

Patient safety is mutlidimensional and embedded in ethical and legal aspects . Both legal and ethical challenges has to be taken into account .

According to this article , a multidisciplinary approach has to be taken in dealing with medical errors , participation of patient and families in patient care , and in detecting medical errors . Provision of emotional and legal protection of the staffs to encourage them voluntary reporting of incidents . Providing training and classes to the healthcare provider on code of ethics will help them to understand the ethics more deeply and to work efficiently in the field without causing any harm to the patient and enhancing patient safety.
