19, There are some factors to be focused for choosing the needle size..that should be

- type of medication

- patient age and physical status ( thin, obese, normal)

- absorption rate for the medication

Intramuscular dorsal gluteal IM injection needle size for adults 21-23 gauge, and 1-1.5 inches..for child 1inch long 25-27gauge needle and for obese patient 1.5-2inch needle size is needed..

20, Regular insulin:

Onset: 1/2 to 1 hour

Peak: 2-4 hours

Duration: 6- 8 hours

21, NPH( lente):

Onset: 1-5 hours

Peak: 4- 12hours

Duration:. 22hours

22, ultralente:

Onset: 4hours

Peak: 8- 18hours

Duration: 30hours

23, Humalog

Onset: 15minutes

Peak: 1-2 hours

Duration: 3-6hours

24, novalog

Onset: 10-20min

Peak: 1-4 hours

Duration: upto 24hours
