2) Lidocaine is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking nerve signals to body. It is used to numb an area in surgery.

Lidocaine injection is given through a needle placed in to vein or directly in to body area to be numbed. Breathing ,blood pressure, oxygen level and other vital signs of patient should be watched closely while administration. These drug start working within 90 seconds and effects last about 20 minutes.Lidocaine is usually in form of its hydrochloride salt.It is available as injection, infusion or topical formulation.

3) Neutral zone also known as no pass or no touch technique , is defined as a designated area or location where sharps only may be placed and retrieved.It is used for placement of sharp instruments during surgical procedure .Its purpose is to reduce incidence of percutaneous injuries and blood exposure by reducing occurrence of hand to hand transfer of sharp instruments. It is a practice to reduce sharp and percutaneous injuries in perioperative areas caused by hand to hand transfer of sharps during surgery.

Any device utilized as neutral zone should be large enough to contain sharps used, should not be easily tipped over, and preferably mobile.
