Karaori kimono is the type of the embroidered outer garment in Japanese Noh theater that is to be worn by a male actor playing the role of the woman in which is considered as an aesthetic object in the Japanese culture.

This is made up of silk, embodied with the grasses, leaves and flowers representing the traditional influence of the Japanese art.

Thus the kimono is more likely   an aesthetic object than a functional one.
