The Antimicrobial drugs are the medicines given to kill the microbial activity, it is given on the basis of which kind of microbial act, such as antiprotozoa, antiviral, antibacterial etc. There range of antimicrobial agents is very large. The examples of antimicrobial agents are penicillin, erythromycin etc.

The mechanism of action of the anitmiAntimic agent is the they attack on the DNA of the mircobe and degrade it's functioning. The antibacterial works in two ways first by killing the bacteria i.e. also known as bactericidal and secondary it stops the replication or the growth of the bacteria known as bacteriostatic.

The protein synthesis inhibitors slow down or inhibit the production of the protein in the cell, and hence stop the synthesis of new Protein, by rapturing the walls of the protein in the microphage.
