Question 13

*Reduced re-absorption of sodium results in increased urinary loss of both sodium and water

*In case of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus results in excess of glucose in the blood stream leads to the accumulation of glucose in kidneys that block the re-absorption of water from the renal tubules that results in an increased urine out-put

*Aquaporin-2 is a vasopressin regulated water channel protein present in the collecting tubules and collecting duct and plays a vital role in urine concentration and body water homeostasis sthrough short- term and long-term regulation of collecting duct water permeability. If in case there is a aquaporin-2 deficiency results in increased urine out-put

*ADH is also called an arginine vasopressin. It is a hormone that tells the kidneys how much water to conserve. The ADH is constantly regulates and balances the amount of water in the blood. If in case there is an increased vasopressin results in increased absorption of water results in decreased urine out-put.
