ICD 9 are generally used to code the diagnosis of a patient apart from this it is also used in the coding of any procedures, to know the mortality data

The HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System) are generally used in three forms namely

  • Level 1 as CPT codes in a numbered form
  • Level 2 for non physician services
  • Level 3 for coding certain programs and legal aspects

The CDT(Cose on Dental Procedures) are used to code the treatment, procedure,etc, done only in dental department

NDC (National Drug Code ) codes only used for the drugs with a 10 digit number in the medication
