Patient is on volume controlled -continuous mandatory ventilation . In this mode ventilator attempt to deliver set tidal volume at any pressure .there is increase risk of barotrauma and pressure limit to be set

In above question 10 set frequency with volume control,total respiration is 20 means

Ventilator deliver 10 respiration with set tidal volume and 10 respiration voluntary by patient

PH is increased (7.35-7.45) and paco2 is less then limits (35-45) that indicate patient is in respiratory alklosis because co2 is washout

To prevent co2 washout ,set rate to be decrease resulting increase co2 in blood

Alklosis can recover
