a) resistances are in parallel

1/R(equi) = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 + 1/R4

1/R(equi) = 1/25 + 1/12 + 1/5 + 1/41

R(equi) = 2.875 ohm

so the equivalent resistance is 2.875 ohm
