Hives ( urticaria ) are itchy, red welts that results from skin reaction.Urticaria is characterized by transient , itchy, elevated,edematous wheals or red pappules.Hives may be caused by some food allergens like nuts, chocolates ,tomatoes , eggs , fish , milk etc.Fresh food causes urticaria more often than cokked food.Many food additives and other certain foods can also cause hives.Therefore keep a diary of what, where and how you eats to reconize or identify the triggers .
