Answer #1

The reaction is aldol condensation and the intermediates are the carbanion(option1) and beta-hydroxycarbonyl compound(option2).

For the percent yield

2 moles of starting compound gives one mole of product

2molx30.03 g/mol of starting compound give 1mol x 70.09 g/mol of product

If 0.567g of compound is used mass of product = 70.09g x0.567g / 2x30.03 g = 0.6617 g

Thus theoretical yield of product = 0.6617 g

% yield = actual yield x 100/ theoretical yield

=0.595g x100 /0.6617 g=90.59%
