Wavelength is the distance between two points on the wave vibrating in same phase .this distance represents the length of of a single wave.

If an object having size comparable to wavelength of a wave comes in the path of the wave then the wave gets polarized around the boundary of obstacle.hence we can say the wave has interacted with the object of comparable dimension.

Size of wave.
