Answer #1

Urinary Tract Infections are most common in women especially during menopause. Menopause is the stage where hormonal imbalance takes place especially oestrogen.

Lower levels of oestrogen leads to the growth of multiple bacteria. Sufficient levels of oestrogen produces natural antimicrobial agents in the bladder. Also makes the urinary tissue stronger and avoids penetration of bacteria in between the gaps of the cells that lines the bladder.

Thus Hormonal Replacement Therapy prevents Urinary Tract Infections.
