We have two children , a boy, 8 and a girl 12 . How can we tell if their level of fitness is Ok?

The childrens in the age group of 6 and 12 is school age.It is the vital period of the children where most of the growth and development takes place.As the parents they have to meet the demands of the child irrespective of their gender.

During the age period of 8 and 12 the child continues to grow and we can notice some new and interesting abilities where the child may exhibit during this age group

Boy in the age group 12:

*Most of the abilities and activities of the child are exhibiting during this period (The natural abilities and interest will exhibit during this age)

*They will sharpen the basic physical skills such as jumping,skipping and chasing etc

*They will start showing their ambitions of future during this age period such as acting as a teacher,doctor.electrician,automobile engineer etc.

*Most of the childrens in these age group are interested in drawing and painting

*They enjoys in collection of old coins,collecting pictures according to their interest (hobbies)

*They should show their interest in competitions and sports/games

Girl in the age group of 12:

*In the age groupof 12 most of the childrens takes every activities in a competitive spirit

*They will try to improve and co-ordinate their skills

*Most of the childrens are interested in traditional sport items,if they are showing such interest as parents we have to encourage it in a positive manner

*They are showing interst in painting

*They are showing more interest to talking with others

*Most of them will choose their appropriate activities accordingto their abilities

As parents we have to to encourage the child to invoveld with their hobbies and encourage them to involve in their physical activities.As parents we have to discourage the child being watching for television for more time,limits mobile gaming and instead of physical activities.

We have to give instructions regarding the co-operation and mingling of childrens with the other childrens in same or different age groups according to their preferences

As parents we have to notice the child health condition and disability if noticed,something wrong needs earlier consultation with a doctor and correct it.

Through this way we can improve the self esteem

Encouraging the chidrens in physical activities helps to improves the fitness and prevent most of the life style diseases in later life.
