Increased barometric pressure influences the alveolar oxygen.

Increase in barometric pressure increases the alveolar oxygen.

PaCO2 is the partial pressure of oxygen. It increases with increased CO2. It increases due to hypoventilation and decreases due to hyperventilation.

When PaCO2 increases PAO2 decreases.

Thicker the alveolar membrane slower the diffuse which results in high alveolar oxygen.

When the diffusion decreases, the O2 and CO2 exchange is affected. This leads to oxygen accumulation in the alveoli.
