1. Furosemide: it is a type of diuretics and is sold under the brand name of lasix.

Function: furosemide is a kind of loop diuretics and it is mainly used in order to avert the retake of the salt into the body and the salt is excreted through the urine. It is given to the patient with retained edema in the patient suffering from congestive heart failure, kidney disease and liver disease .

Nutritional implication:

- the patient will be advised to take food with low sodium.

- he will be advised to take food with high potassium level like: banana, prunes, orange juice etc.

2. Atorvastatin: it is a type of station medication and is found under the trade name of Lipitor .

Function: it is given in order to treat the patient's with the high risk of cardiovascular diseases, also it helps to treat the abnormality in the level of lipids in the patient's body.

Nutritional implication:

- the grapefruit is suggested to avoid while taking it atorvastatin.

3. Warfarin: it is an anti coagulant medication and is distributed under the brand name of Coumadin.

Function: it helps in treating the blood clots in cases like deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism as well as people who has a high chances of getting stroke in cases like atrial fibrillation, artificial heart valve, and valvular heart disease.

Nutritional implication:

- there are certain foods which are to be avoided while taking warfarin they are: asparagus, collard greens, Brussel sprouts, kale, kiwi, broccoli, soyabeans etc.

- the intake of vitamin K should be avoided.

4. Sodium bicarbonate: sodium bicarbonate falls under the category of antacid .

Function: it is used in order to treat the heart burn and acid indigestion, also it is used to treat the increased acid contain in blood and urine.

Nutritional implication:.

- the food to be avoided by the patient is calcium rich diet and sodium rich diet.

5. Levodopa: a kind of drug which is converted into dopamine once it enters our body.

Function: it is used in order to treat the Parkinson's disease or symptoms.

Nutritional implication:

- Pyridoxine medications should be avoided
