ECG , blood pressure and heart rate values are important in the patient taking formoterol because it causes severe flactuations in these.

Potential actions of formoterol :-

Through stimulation of adenyl cyclase, relaxes smooth muscle and inhibits the release of mast cell mediators such as histamine and leukotrienes.

This drug may cause chest pain, high or low blood pressure, fast heart rate, and irregular heart rhythms, decrease potassium concentration causing changes in ECG .
