9. It is given that 80.10 g of sample releases 28,096 kJ of heat

We need to calculate the fuel value of this blend in kJ/g

The given weight is of the synthetic blend of fuel.

We should calculate the heat released per gram of the fuel blend

If 80.10 grams of sample releases 28,096 kJ of heat then

1 gram of sample release

28,096 kJ / 80.10 grams = 350.76 kJ/g

Thus the required value of this fuel blend is 370.76 kJ/g

10. The given reaction is exothermic reaction

Given that the \DeltaH value of the reaction is -1,269.8 kJ

A negative \DeltaH value indicates that the products of the reaction has less energy than the reactants. This means the reactants loose their energy to the surroundings as heat. When the energy is given out by the reactants, it is the exothermic reaction and hence the given reaction is exothermic reaction.
