#. Difference between clinical and statistical significance :-

clinical significance is the practical importance of a treatment effect whether it has a real genuine, palpable, noticeable effect on daily life.

Statistical significance is the likelihood that a relationship between two or more variables is caused by something other than chance. Statistical hypothesis testing is used to determine whether the result of a data set is statistically significant.

Example of why statistically significant results in a study do not always mean that the study is clinically significant:-

A large study might find that a new antihypertensive drug lowered BP on average ,1mm Hg more than conventional treatments. The results were statistically significant with a P value of less than .05 because n was large enough to detect a very small difference .
