HCl dissociates as:

HCl(aq) + H2O(l) —> H3O+(aq) + Cl-(aq)

use dilution formula

M1*V1 = M2*V2

1---> is for stock solution

2---> is for diluted solution

Given:

M1 = 0.5 M

V1 = 3 mL

V2 = 100 mL

use:

M1*V1 = M2*V2

M2 = (M1*V1)/V2

M2 = (0.5*3)/100

M2 = 0.015 M

[H3O+] = 0.015 M

use:

pH = -log [H3O+]

= -log (1.5*10^-2)

= 1.8239

Answer: 1.82
