A simple pendulum consists of a weight with mass 3.5 kg suspended from a 0.4 m long wire. The weight is pulled so that the wire makes an angle of 7 ∘ with the vertical, and then the weight is released. How long will it take the weight to reach its maximum height again?

Answer #1

Given is:-

Mass of the pendulum m = 3.5 kg

Length of the wire l = 0.4 m

Angle with vertical A = 70

Now,

The time period for pendulum is given by

T = 27

by plugging all the values we get

T = 274 0.4m 9.8m/s2

which gives us

T= 1.26945

To reach it's maximum height again the pendulum will take half time period, therefore

t = \frac{T}{2}

or

1.26945

which gives us the required time, which is

t = 0.6347s
