If their is no urine drainage in a bag,take the following steps:

  1. Check for or remove any kinks in the catheter or the drainage bag tubing.
  2. Check the position of the catheter and drainage bag.Ensure the bag positioned below the bladder when patient is lying, sitting or standing.
  3. Check that the leg bag straps are filled correctly and are not causing drainage bag obstruction.
  4. Remove the catheter and reattempt with a new catheter after 60 minutes.
